6 Brain Hacks to Remember Things

Brain is the complex organ of our body . It grows over time and starts losing memory .  When we were kids we remember things more easily and for the long time . There are lot of researches which tell us that the brain of children of age group 0-5 make connections or synapses at the earliest . The connection among brain neurons is called the synapses .

Kids brain overloaded with curiosity is called beginner’s brain by scientists . But why our memory curiosity reduces with time . Just fulfilling the needs of the life we don’t even realize when we start forgetting little things . Daily tasks , location of items at home , remembering these things seems tough to us .

By the way after a certain age , reduction in memory is a normal physiological process . But in today's world , full of stress , distraction and unhealthy food & lifestyle many people have started facing memory problem before the time .

Lack of concentration and low memory power not only affects our work-life , but also makes a negative impact on our personal and social life .

So if you have also started forgetting things then read this blog till the end . In this blog we are going to talk about 6 tips or tricks through which your brain memory will get stronger .

So let's go.....

1) MAKE A SCHEDULE

Does your day , what to make today , what books to be taken today , where is my uniform, my shoes , my tie , begins with such chaos ? If yes , then this chaos needs to be changed because this unnecessarily uses your brain energy . The best way to do is to learn to schedule things . Start making your schedule of the coming day , a day before . Your bag pack , your uniform , your important files or assignments assemble them and schedule your day before sleeping at night . Trust me it will take you just 10 minutes . But when you do , you will see that you are able to free up a lot of your mental energy , which can be used in many other meaningful and important tasks .

Researchers have found that the lack of routine and structure in people's life increases stress and anxiety due to which there is a lack of focus and concentration . And ultimately it affects the memory .

So if you don't want your energy to be wasted then start organizing your day and get used to keeping things in place .

 2) DO NOTHING

Nowadays , terms like MINDFULNESS and MEDITATION are trending a lot . Many scientific studies have also proved their role in increasing mental health and brain capacity . But do you know what is the real meaning of these fancy terms ?

MINDFULNESS means your full concentration in just present . You need not to go to a special place for mindfulness . Neither to attend any class nor to do any frills .

Just imagine why our forefathers never needed a mindfulness workshop . Why was there not as much stress in his life as ours ? Whereas today we are living in an era full of more convenience than them . Today the sofa of our houses is more comfortable than the throne of great kings and maharajas of a time . Now there is only one reason behind this that the lives of our ancestors was not as fast as ours . They often took out some time for themselves , when they would reset the brain by doing nothing . You too have to do the same thing .  Not much , just take out sometime for 5-10 minutes when you're literally doing nothing . Just sit or lay down and close your eyes . Your attention should be towards your stomach while breathing in and out . When the attention goes here and there , try to go back to the same . Do not fight with your thoughts just slowly bring the attention back to the breath . These 10 minutes of your day will boost your recall capacity 10 times .

3) FULFILLING NUTRITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Like other organs of the body , nutrition is also needed for brain health . Brain health often affects all stages of memory , especially the recall stage mostly depends on this . So we can say that your memory depends on what you eat . For example, if your food is high in sugar and processed food then there will be an insulin spike in your body due to which excitement and anxiety will arise in your brain and your focus will deteriorate . Whereas things like omega three fatty acid , chia seeds pure dark chocolate and green leafy vegetables will boost your memory power . Studies have found when blood sugar level increases , the size of brain shrinks . So you should avoid processed sugars as much as possible .

  4) EXERCISE

If you spend most of the time laying down then somewhere you are losing memory power . There are hundreds of studies that have proved that 15 - 30 minutes of aerobics cardio exercise enhances cognitive , memory and motor skills . The most important part of the brain that does most of the work related to learning and memory is HIPPOCAMPUS . Scientists have found in brain mapping experiments that those who have good memory their hippocampus is healthier than the rest and is also slightly larger in size . Studies have made it clear that exercise has a direct effect on hippocampus . Apart from this , physical activity releases all the SEROTONIN in the body , which acts as a mood elevator . And in addition to serotonin , it also releases ENDORPHINS which give us a happy feeling and increases concentration by reducing stress .

So to increase memory all you have to do is include physical activities in your daily routine , for which it is not necessary that you go to gym and do weight training . You can do jogging , cycling , swimming or anything .

 5)  NEW EXPERIENCE

Experiments have found that new experiences strengthen all the old memories present in the memory center of the brain . It was found  that if we give new experiences to the students along with learning things so  they will remember things for a long time . A chemical called DOPAMINE is behind this phenomenon . With new experiences , dopamine is released from a center in the brain called the locus cerulus and this chemical works to increase memory by going to the hippocampus . So in your same moving life , try to introduce new experiences regularly . Get up a little earlier than your regular time . Sometimes take a new routine to go to the office . Try some new food item at once . Make a habit of observing nature . The more attentive you are , the more experiences you will get around you .

British author Samuel Johnson says , THE TRUE ART OF THE MEMORY IS THE ART OF ATTENTION .

6 ) PROPER NIGHT SLEEP

All day our brain is busy in registering and recalling things . That’s why it does not get proper storage time . A good night sleep relaxes the brain by releasing stress . Each sleep cycle is in itself an opportunity for the brain to reset , restore and recover its critical functions . Sleep experts believe that when we sleep the connection between the brain cells is strengthened and all the information that we have received starts getting stored in those areas of the brain where it can be easily recalled , no matter what age you are . If you do not sleep well it will affect every stage of memory . The important thing about sleep is that it doesn’t matter how long you lie in bed rather it is I important that your sleep should be undisturbed for at least 2-3 hours  of REM cycle i.e. Rapid Eye Moment . Each REM cycle is of at least 90 minutes . And it is necessary  to complete at least 2 REM cycle for proper refreshing . This is the reason that even after sleeping for hours , sometimes we wake up tired .

So these were tried and tested 6 hacks that will definitely help you climb the new stages of success by boosting your memory .

Let’s meet in next blog....
